About the event
The Lorne Scots Regimental Museum, Old Fire Hall, and Brampton Armoury will be open to the public.
The Lorne Scots Regimental Museum
This former Carnegie Library is a designated heritage building now home to the Lorne Scots Regimental Museum. In 2022, the museum began a partnership with the City of Brampton to bring the building back to life. It now houses a collection of stories and artifacts covering the 200-plus-year history of the Lorne Scots Regiment.
In addition to the Museum display of the history of the Lorne Scots Regiment, War of 1812 Re-enactor David Brunelle will be on-site talking about the Militia of the time and about being a re-enactor.
Brampton Library staff will be talking about the history of our over 100 year old building. There are stairs, so access may be difficult for the mobility challenged.

Old Fire Hall
The Old Fire Hall was built in 1854 and served as Brampton's first municipal building, originally for use as a market hall, as well as the fire company. By 1880, the second floor served as the council chambers. The Old Fire Hall, minus the fire bell, now serves as office space for the Regional Headquarters of The Lorne Scots.

The Lorne Scots have been serving the community of Peel in Brampton since 1866 and continue to train out of this facility.
