About the event

The Lorne Scots Regimental Museum invites you to a special Remembrance Day Exhibit from November 2 to 17, commemorating the bravery and sacrifice of Canadians who served our country. This exhibit is an opportunity to connect with the stories of those who served for the freedoms we enjoy today and to honour the traditions of remembrance that are at the heart of our national identity.

Located in the historic former Carnegie Library building, the Lorne Scots Regimental Museum houses artifacts that span over two centuries of military history. For this exhibit, we have partnered with local Royal Canadian Legion branches in the Regimental area to bring you unique items on loan, each with its own story of service and sacrifice. These artifacts include uniforms, medals, personal items, and memorabilia from various conflicts, offering a deeper insight into the lives of the soldiers, sailors, and aviators who wore them.

This exhibit aims to highlight the importance of Remembrance Day and the act of remembrance itself. November 11th is a day to pause, reflect, and honour those who have served, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s a time to acknowledge the courage and resilience of our veterans and their families, and to reinforce the value of peace in our world today. The Lorne Scots Museum aims to create an experience taking you beyond the historical, encouraging visitors to personally reflect on the legacy of those who came before us.

The museum will be open with extended hours following the City of Brampton Remembrance Day Ceremony, on November 11, providing a serene and meaningful space for the community to pay their respects. However, we encourage visitors to attend on other days throughout the exhibition period, from November 2 to November 17, to fully experience the stories and artifacts on display without the Remembrance Day crowds.

Join us in honouring those who served. Let us remember, reflect, and show gratitude for the freedoms they fought to protect.
